Sample Itinerary in Los Cabos
Day 1 – Arrival and Relax
Upon arrival at Los Cabos International Airport (SJD), you will pass through customs and immigrations and encounter a health screening before your official entry into the destination. En route to your luxury hotel or villa, you will instantly fall in love with Los Cabos, where a desert backdrop stunningly contrasts the azure ocean. Settle into your accommodations and explore all it has to offer while your butler unpacks and organizes for you.
Day 2 – Beach and Catamaran Snorkel
Los Cabos has 22 blue-flag certified, swimmable beaches and the longest beach coastline in Mexico for you to enjoy, however, the best way to see them all is by sea. Board a catamaran, speedboat, or yacht out of the Cabo San Lucas Marina and enjoy the ride; first stopping to see Lover’s Beach, the sea lion colony, and the Arch at Land’s End. Then, hit the open Sea of Cortez, where you will pass much of the touristic corridor as you make your way to Santa Maria Bay or Chileno Bay to snorkel, kayak, and paddleboard. Day 3 – Todos Santos and Cerritos Beach
Today is a day to explore Baja by land, visiting the Magic Town of Todos Santos just one hour north of Los Cabos. Start with a delicious specialty Mexican coffee at the open-air café, Doce Cuarenta, before heading into town to discover why this pueblo has been recognized as one of Mexico’s most charming nooks. Take a stroll along the colorful streets and pop into one of the many art galleries of painters, sculptors, and artisans, or wander the outdoor handicraft market. For lunch, you will want to head to Jazamango, a farm-to-table concept that is truly sensational and, without a doubt, will be etched in your memory as one of the most incredible culinary experiences you have ever had. On your way back toward Los Cabos, stop at Cerritos Beach to be serenaded by the ocean’s waves, and you may even wish to try your hand at some surf lessons. If you stay long enough for sunset, you will be in for a special treat as the sun sets behind a beautiful hacienda perched above the beach.
Day 4 – Whale Watching, Farm-To-Table and San Jose del Cabo
If you’re visiting in the winter months from early-December to late-March, be sure to schedule an early morning whale watching tour. During these months, the giant humpback whales migrate to the open Pacific waters to mate and give birth to babies. While the whales can be active all day, morning cruises usually have calmer waters, and it is less windy, making for a smoother ride. Morning tours also afford you the afternoon to enjoy your luxury accommodation, relaxing poolside or on the beach with your toes in the sand. For dinner, be sure to try one of San Jose del Cabo’s farm-to-table restaurants, a movement focused on sustainable, organic farming and the sourcing and using of local ingredients for dishes served in each of the restaurants.
Day 5 – Desert Adventure
Today is a day for adventure. Los Cabos’ desert location makes for the perfect playground with tons of fun and different activities to get the adrenaline flowing. Try your hand at ziplining and rappelling from rock walls on the Cabo Zipline Outdoor Adventure Tour; or off-road on your own 4×4 ATV or Polaris UTV, weaving through the desert sands and terrains. If you want to spend time on the shore, consider electric bike rentals or riding a camel alongside the Pacific Ocean. For an even more intimate glimpse of rural, desert life, consider a hike through the Sierra de La Laguna and visit the hot springs and waterfall at Rancho Sol de Mayo.
Day 6 – Departure Day
It is never easy leaving the special slice of paradise that is Los Cabos; however, do not despair, visitors to Los Cabos rarely bid “adios,” rather a “hasta la proxima” (until next time!) To help ease your departure back home, your hotel, villa or timeshare will provide Covid-19 test onsite. It is recommended to contact your hotel or villa to arrange for the test onsite. The Los Cabos Tourism Board provides all international travelers with information on taking a COVID-19 test before their scheduled international departure.
