It is hard to imagine just how the cactus-strewn Baja desert is able to produce and sustain such beautiful crops, but the rural landscape’s mixture of mineral-rich soil, sunshine, and smart irrigation systems lend to a lush agricultural setting.
Not only do these ranches and farms provide the ingredients used in some of the best hotels and restaurants, but a handful of them also offer a holistic dining experience right in their yard for visitors who are eco-conscious and want to feel an authentic connection with the place they visit and the things they eat. Appreciation for food is a staple part of Mexico’s culture, so what better way to immerse yourself than to sit down and enjoy a meal after having learned what goes into the making and seeing the crop fields being harvested right in front of you.

Beyond the farm-to-table restaurant scene, Los Cabos also hosts organic markets throughout the region to allow local farmers and ranchers to sell and offload their hard day’s work. The markets offer everything from ripe fruits, veggies and herbs (including heirloom varieties), farm fresh eggs and dairy, baked good, juices, coffee, honey, and more.
