Iberojet announces direct route to connect Los Cabos with Madrid in 2022

•    This will be the first direct flight between Madrid, Spain, and Los Cabos in Baja California Sur, Mexico, which will boost the connectivity of the destination and increase visitation by more than 8 thousand tourists in 2022.

•    Commencing on June 20th, 2022, flights will be operated on a weekly basis aboard a new generation Airbus A350 with up to 432 seats per flight, ensuring high standards of quality and comfort.

•    European tourists will be able to experience and enjoy one of the most diverse tourist destinations in the world, with unique luxury offerings that are difficult to find anywhere else.

Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, December 13, 2021 – Today, Iberojet airline, part of Ávoris Corporación Empresarial, announced a direct route connecting Madrid, Spain with Los Cabos, Baja California Sur, Mexico, starting on June 20th, 2022.  The new route will operate aboard an Airbus 350, a plane that stands out for being the most eco-efficient of its kind, equipped with the best amenities in its segment and built to the highest quality and comfort standards. Passengers will also have access to the latest technology in entertainment and an excellent culinary in-flight selection, both of which make all the difference on transcontinental flights.

The strengthening of the connectivity to Los Cabos is possible thanks to the collaborative work between the government of the State of Baja California Sur, the private sector, and travel and tourism partners across the destination. The new route looks to increase tourism to Los Cabos and promote economic growth.

With the addition of this route, we will highlight our competitiveness as a destination while strengthening the economic and social development of the state,” said Víctor Castro Cossio, Governor of the State of Baja California Sur.

Raúl Revuelta Musalem, General Director of Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), said that he is confident with the future success of the Madrid-Los Cabos route and believes that it symbolizes the beginning of new opportunities in terms of connectivity and market diversification for Los Cabos. Every year, Mexico receives more than 144 thousand tourists from Spain, an 83% increase in 2021 compared to 2020 arrival numbers, showing a continued growing interest from Spaniards in getting to know the country.
