The Los Cabos Experience

Contributor, Luxury Travel Advisor and Los Cabos Home Owner & Destination Specialist.
While this year has been one of the most challenging times as a community of travelers that we have ever seen, What I witnessed while traveling through Los Cabos a few weeks ago brought me confidence in the fact that we will get through this and come out on the other side of this stronger.

It was with trepidation that I boarded my flight from SFO to SJD , I have to admit I had a few butterflies in my stomach as it had not been since February that I had flown. I geared up with my mask, goggles and my face shield , was I going overboard…  truly I did not care what I looked like. I was flying again, and once we started to taxi down the runway that feeling that I get once I know I am about to embark on a journey hit me, and I was filled with delight, a  huge smile came over me and we were on our way.

Once landing in Los Cabos, the customs and immigration was a breeze ,  protocols were in place, temperature checks and sanitization stations were readily available. I was through quickly , I quickly grabbed my luggage and picked up my rental car from MEX Rental directly in front of Terminal one and the San Jose Del Cabo Airport,  it was a quick process and I was on my way.

While driving along the old highway to downtown San Jose I enjoyed the local area, watched daily business take place, everyone was wearing a mask, social distancing was taking place and people seemed to respect one another.

I had the opportunity to check out a number of hotels and restaurants while traveling around Los Cabos for a couple of weeks, and I was very impressed with the measures in place to keep the locals and tourists safe. No matter where you go they are making sure to take your temperature on arrival.  There is a two step sanitation for your shoes when you check in and they are requiring you to sanitize your hands before entrance.

There seems to be a very thorough process for all businesses , they are taking this very seriously and It was impressive to see the lengths that they have trained the staff to implement these measures.

While I know now is not the time for all of us or our clients to travel, I do have confidence that Los Cabos is a great option and doing their very best to keep everyone safe.

I spent two weeks truly enjoying my home away from home, there is something that the light of Los Cabos does for me to center me and bring me so much Joy, hidden beaches, incredible food and friendly locals.  I am proud of the people of Los Cabos for taking this seriously and taking the measures in so many cases to be able to bring back the travelers to their beautiful region.  It is with pride that the people of Los Cabos will welcome you back, and keep you coming back.
